The Royal New Zealand Air Force Band back in Wanaka after 20 years (Sponsored)Royal New Zealand Airforce Band

The Royal New Zealand Air Force Band is back to perform in Wanaka. The last time was back in the '90's at Warbirds Over Wanaka. Get the family together and take a drive to Wanaka on Friday 26th February to join them as they finish off their 2021 tour at the Lake Wanaka Centre with this exciting variety concert.

The music spans from Anthony Ritchie’s “Down the Brunner Mine” and Verdi’s “The Force of Destiny” through to tunes by Earth, Wind, & Fire and Disney classics. You’ll also hear features from the band’s famous drum line, singer/comedian Matt Mulholland, bagpiper F/S Murray Mansfield, and flutist Rebecca Steel.

The band recently celebrated its 80th anniversary, and is often heard welcoming dignitaries at Government House, or providing music for commemorations at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park. It performed at the sold-out 2016 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and more recently to hundreds of thousands of people at the Nanchang International Military Tattoo in China.

Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the power of New Zealand’s only full-sized professional symphonic band in concert!
