A 16-year-old Alexandra boy has been spoken to by police after shooting an arrow over his back fence and into a neighbour's garage door.

Alexandra Police Senior Constable Graham Perkins thanked media for bringing the issue to light last week, which resulted in a member of the public coming forward to help with inquiries.

“A reader provided information about a neighbour’s son who shot an arrow into her property and asked to get it back, which was ok. The reader lives in-line with the target address (garage door) and the neighbour.”

Police spoke with the youth who had shot the arrow across the road and into the garage door burying it eight inches into the door.

“It was very lucky that no one was injured by this action given the flight of the arrow,” Snr Const Perkins said.

Education has been provided to the youth and an agreement between parties over damage has been arranged.
