A Cromwell boy’s shock Leukaemia diagnosis while on holiday in Scotland has prompted local colleagues to help his family.
Arran’s parents, Leighann Cochrane and Keith Riddell had planned a trip to Scotland for Arran (3) to meet other family members before the Covid-19 pandemic hit New Zealand.
While on their trip this month they noticed Arran had bruises and was displaying out of character tiredness.
A trip to the GP in Scotland has dramatically changed things for the family.

He has a rare disease, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and doctors have said he cannot travel back to New Zealand for treatment.
Arran will have five weeks of chemotherapy in hospital and another three years of further treatment.
Friends of the family have set up a Give-a-little page which has raised more than $8,600 in eight days.
On the fundraising page Leighann said she wants to raise awareness of blood and platelet donation, and getting on the bone marrow register.
“Thanks to the kindness of strangers, Arran is able to fight his illness so please let's help other children like Arran have the same chance.”
