Players from the Southern Steel will be visiting Central this Sunday to teach netball skills to youngsters in Cromwell and Alexandra.
The ‘Real Steel Southern Roadie’ is at Cromwell College from 10 - 12noon and then 2 -4pm at Alexandra’s Molyneux Park courts.
The roadie’s main aim is to connect players and the community, to try and engage more keen young netballers to put their shoes on and play netball.
Other towns on the list for later visits are Queenstown, Wānaka, Oamaru, Dunedin and Balclutha.
The roadie includes a skill session, along with time to meet the players for photos and signatures.

At the Central Otago Netball Centre more than 800 players, coaches, managers and administrators are involved in the game.
Plans for Saturday netball are underway with local clubs running trials and schools making up their teams for the 2025 winter season currently.
The Southern Steel’s first match up is against the Canterbury Tactix on Sunday May 11 at 7pm.
The team has a new coach this year, Invercargill-born Wendy Frew, who captained the Steel to back-to-back ANZ premiership titles in 2017 and 2018.
