Search still on for missing dog, believed stolenAbby Scott is frantically searching for her missing dog, Arlo, while her companion Wolf has been found injured, malnourished and scared.

The owner of two dogs, believed to have been taken, has not given up hope of finding her beloved pet after one of the dogs was located and brought home injured and frightened.

Abby Scott says her two dogs went missing Tuesday June 8 and were spotted in the Clyde Cromwell Gorge near Champagnes Gully.

“We want this out there, we want to be the voice for all of these families and people who are having their babies stolen,” she says.

Abby says Wolf has been found and brought home but is in a terrible state of health.

“In poor condition - starved, thirsty, thin, scared and injured, and left to die opposite the Clyde hill turnoff into the gorge.

“The vet was so saddened by Wolf’s condition over the weekend we need to take him back on Friday.”

Wolf (pictured) has been found injured, frightened and clean, which Abby says points to the dogs having been stolen.

Abby says the dogs were taken from her property, which the family no longer feel safe in.

The pair are well-known in Clyde, having comforted cafe goers with pats.

“We believe that they have been taken from the greenway by our home, then these people have seen the public post a woman posted on social media on the Tuesday they disappeared into thin air.

“We believe they have been watching our property which is very easy to do as we back onto a public green way with a fence that provides little privacy and any animal can basically jump.

“These two are no strangers to the community and yes, known to go for a stroll down the community or down to their favorite spots on Springvale road.

“Often we have come home and found our back gate left open or the dogs have been out of their kennel and sitting by another fence waiting for someone to come home.

“Wolf had absolutely no evidence that he had been in the hills for the six days he was missing. He is a very smart, intuitive dog and when taken to the vets they did not believe he was a dog that got lost and was trying to survive in the unknown.

“He was sensitive to light, scared of getting in the car to even go into the vet and these dogs have no problem getting in the car to come for a ride.

“He was timid, which also is not like Wolf! He was extremely clean, no ripped up pads or paws nails etc.

“We are frantically pleading for the people who are local who are involved in this to come forward and the public to keep Arlo’s face in the public eye.”

Arlo (pictured) is still missing, and Abby says her family desperately wants their boy home.

Abby says someone must know where Arlo is or who may have taken him.

She says the family have searched endlessly with a large team of helpers, scouring terrain through gullies and valleys with the help of thermal gear and search dogs.

“If anyone knows where our boy is please plead for his survival as he needs to come home,” she says.

“We believe our dogs were targeted and they knew they would have to take both of them because they are inseparable, however we think our old huntaway has no use for these people.

“Arlo is a purebred pedigree blue nose staffy who is not fixed with many uses for these monsters!

“Too many dogs are going missing in this area and it shouldn’t be happening.

“This community is not as safe as we portray and we need to stand up to those who think this is ok and prevent others from going through what we are having to deal with.”
