Police Search and Rescue teams have resumed efforts this morning to locate a man who went missing at Mt Aspiring National Park.

NZ Police said emergency services were alerted shortly before 5pm yesterday after reports a man had fallen from a rock into the river and failed to resurface.

A search team was immediately deployed to the area, but despite efforts, the man could not be located.

The search resumed at 8am today, with teams continuing to scour the area.

Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available, a police spokesperson said.
