Rocking the church, for Covid reliefWanaka Presbyterian Church will host Auckland rock band ‘Josh Jones and the Secret Chords’ next month.

The Beatles, U2, and Coldplay are just some examples of the music which will shake the rafters of the Wanaka Presbyterian Church when ‘Josh Jones and the Secret Chords’ play there next month.

Entry is by koha, which will go to International Needs NZ to help tackle the devastating impact Covid-19 is having in India, Nepal and Pakistan.

“This is the first time we’ve ever done a music concert,” senior minister and event organiser Ian Hyslop said.

“We want this to be a celebration and exploration of the power of music to transcend barriers of language, culture, age and race.”

All ages are welcome and there will be a supper at the end of the night.

“The church can fit anywhere from 400-500 people and it would be really great if the place was full,” Ian said.

Tickets for the night can be purchased at Caltex, Paper Plus and the church office at 91 Tenby Street.

‘Josh Jones and the Secret Chords’ will perform at the Wanaka Presbyterian Church on Saturday July 17 at 7.30pm.
