RNZ confirms sharing arrangement with Wānaka App

Radio New Zealand (RNZ) has signed a content sharing agreement with the Wānaka App which will enable both parties to publish stories of interest that the other produces.

The agreement comes into force this week.

“It is timely to have access to RNZ content,” Wānaka App co-owner Tony O’Regan said.

“With so much focus on Covid we will be able to publish relevant RNZ stories and ensure the latest information is available to people here via the Wānaka App.

“This agreement will enhance the news service we provide locally and ensure that our great local stories have access to a national publisher.”

RNZ is New Zealand’s independent public service multimedia organisation and is a crown entity established under the Radio New Zealand Act 1995.

The Wānaka App is the most popular local news and information publication in the Upper Clutha with more than 110,708 readers in the past 12 months.

The Wānaka App is a member of the Media Council of New Zealand which upholds journalistic standards in the country.
