Ranfurly residents are no longer required to boil drinking water.
This afternoon (Thursday February 16) the Central Otago District Council (CODC) received confirmation through its water quality testing that there is no further need to boil water.
Although the reservoir level has recovered, CODC staff will closely monitor it along with the river level.
Water restrictions still apply.
Water is for essential use only, for such things as showering (no longer than four minutes), and only running the washing machine or dishwasher on a full load.
Residents should not water their gardens in the meantime.
Water restrictions still apply elsewhere in the Maniototo (Patearoa and Naseby) and the Omakau/Ophir area.
