Alexandra District Parents Centre’s (APC) Annual Great Duck Race was a fast flowing success on Saturday.

The weather was calm as the 726 ducks floated down the Manuherikia River to the finish line in under 15 minutes.

A few escapees were retrieved thanks to the kayakers and fire crew who were in attendance on the day.

The spectators cheered their ducks down the river and there were lots of happy faces at prize giving.

First place was Kaitlin Smith, second Kara Mackay, and third Jill Mackay.

Other top 10 finishers were Adalyn Whyte, Ruth Davidson, Betty Leask, Nicole Craig, Megan De Cort, Kelli Richardson, Tony Gare, and the last duck was Sullivan Whyte's.
