The Otago Regional Council (ORC) have installed warning signs, but please keep yourselves and your pets (i.e. dogs) out of the water until the signs have been taken down at Butchers Dam.

The Central App will also provide an update in the Public Notices you when it is safe for humans and dogs to enter the water again.

Toxic algae can make humans quite sick and can be fatal for dogs.
