Best selling author and musician Deano Yipadee (Dean O’Brien aka Mr Yipadee) brought laughter and a fun sing-a-long to local tamariki in Alexandra last Thursday (August 3).

The morning concert, organised by Alexandra Parents Centre and The Terrace Primary School (TTS) was held in the school hall and provided a break from the usual morning of classroom learning for TTS students and kindergarten aged children.

Tamariki got to sing, dance, read, giggle and bounce along to some of the well known songs, as well as get their favourite books signed by Deano.

A selection of Mr Yipadee’s books were included in the show: Stink-o-saurus, Ron the Royal Guard, Granny’s Undies, Dusty the Digger, and Nee Naw the Fire Engine.

Local artist Bruce Potter, who illustrated the newly released Dusty the Digger book also attended the session.

Mr Yipadee had four books in the Neilson NZ Children And Teens (Official) Best-sellers Charts in May 2023.
