Police seeking help in relation to Cromwell incidents

Southern District Police are appealing for help from the public to identify two men connected to a recent incident in Cromwell.


Police would like to speak with them regarding an incident that occurred at the Cromwell Golf Club in the early morning hours of Sunday 6 March.

Police appealed for help with this yesterday afternoon via a Facebook post. Cromwell Golf Club is located on Neplusultra St.


There was also a suspicious fire event that occurred at the back of Community House in Cromwell early yesterday.


Fire and Emergency New Zealand southern communications shift manager Simon Lyford said they received a call about a fire at 3am Wednesday morning.



"Two appliances from Cromwell responded. They found one small paper stand on fire.


"It was extinguished. The crews checked inside the building and found there was no major damage to the property."


Simon said the fire was believed to be suspicious. The police are also making enquiries.
