A ‘tuxedo’ cat turned up on her balcony and it came with a kitten.
She named the cat ‘Tuxie,’ and assumed it was a female.
Her own cat ‘Reowl’ (think onomatopoeia), was not impressed, but eventually the pair became friends.
But she came home one day after work in October and Tuxie wasn’t in a good way.
S/he had two bite marks and a lame shoulder, so Susan rushed the cat to the vet.
It was going to cost her $2000+ for surgery so she made the tough decision to put Tuxie down (then realising it was actually a boy cat all along).
Two days later, she received a surprise on her front porch. There sitting in the same chair that Tuxie used to sleep on, was an almost identical cat.
So she named it Ghost.
“It was quite freaky actually. It was like, “here I am, I’m back,” she said.
And so the whole process starts again, with Ghost now spending most of its time outside and creeping in for food when nobody’s looking.
