Paper Plus want you to pay it forward Alexandra and Cromwell Paper Plus will donate a book to charity for every book sold today and tomorrow.

Alexandra and Cromwell Paper Plus stores will run a special campaign today and tomorrow, where for every book sold, they will donate one to a local charity.

Paper Plus posted to social media to announce the campaign.

“We know this year has been tough for many families,” the post stated.

“In the spirit of locals looking after locals, we're excited to announce that for two super special days = Every time you purchase a book from us - we will donate one to the salvation army! (because they do a stellar job supporting those in need).

“We know a lot of people are making a special effort to support local businesses, so this is our way of paying it forward.”

Alexandra store manager Sam Robinson said the aim is to give back to our local community as we know some families are doing it tough.

“We did a big “support local” campaign during lockdown and it has been our theme for most of the year, we think it’s really important that locals support local businesses and this is our way of paying it forward to those in need this Christmas.

“For every book we sell on Thursday and Friday, we will donate a book to The Salvation Army.

“So if we sell 100 books on those days we will donate 100 books to The Salvation Army.”

Cromwell Paper Plus will donate a book to Secret Santa for every book they sell over the next two days (Pictured: Aimee Paardekooper).

The Cromwell store, managed by Aimee Paardekooper, will donate to Secret Santa Cromwell, which distributes gifts to families.

Both stores have been owned by the local Paardekooper family for over 30 years.

“So all our customers have to do is buy a book! We will do the rest,” Sam said.
