Our top stories from the last weekThe top stories as clicked by you over the last week.

The Central App was opened more than 91,000 times last week.

The most-read story of last week was our Mayor Tim's feature on the two bits of news that sparked him to write to you all. This story had 1900 individual readers.

We need to vaccine, track everywhere we go and wear our masks to protect ourselves and all those in our community.  It's a small price to pay when you consider the other option of being in level 4 lockdown and having no cafes or businesses to visit.

Over the weekend I noticed a number of cafes and shops now have signs on their doors “no mask, no entry”. Delta is here, and we know it is not going away anytime soon.

The second most-read story was the breaking news was our daily COVID Ministry of Health updates. We provide these for you every day to ensure you are being kept informed with accurate information. It was a week of numbers increasing, again informing us that we can't afford to be complacent.

In third spot, showing our obsession with weather was the regular Friday weekend weather report. It was a pretty accurate weather report, informing us there was a ‘calm before the storm’. The week ahead is more rain, possible snow, so a great time to find indoor activities for the kids during the last week of the school holidays.
