The Central App was opened 16,000 times over the last week, with the news section receiving over 13,000 individual clicks in seven days. 

The top story of the week was the Serious Crash - SH 1, Waihola on Saturday.

The police announced that emergency services responded to a serious crash on SH 1 just south of Waihola at the start of the long weekend. 

Police were notified of the two-car crash at about 9:15am. Police later confirmed that two people died in the accident. 

A further three people were injured in the two-car crash, two seriously and one moderately.

In second spot was the story Central Otago not at 90% vaccination yet.

The story highlighted the fact Central Otago is still not quite pipping the 90 percent double-dosed minimum milestone.  

In third spot, was the Covid-19 community case reported in the South Island with positive test in Blenheim, the first on the South Island in this outbreak.
