A new bike and scooter track is almost ready for action at Omakau School.

The home and school committee has been working on the project, which is expected to be covered in asphalt in the coming days.

Principal Adelle Banks said a long list of people and businesses had helped develop the track. 

“We are appreciative of all our local community [and] we are really lucky to have such a supportive group of parents.”

A working-bee to get the track developed in preparation for asphalting, took place over the school holidays.

Board of Trustees member Kyle Hinton acknowledged the home and school committee for coming up with the idea, persevering and getting the support of local people and businesses to help complete the project.

“It couldn’t have worked out much better, really.”
