Updated: The playground has been cleaned and is now open.

The Central Otago District Council has informed The Central App vandals have struck again and all playgrounds at Pioneer Park are currently closed due to there being lots of broken glass in the rubber matting.

Council will be getting an industrial vacuum cleaner to go over the entire area today.

We'll keep you posted when it's safe to get back in there.

Meanwhile don't forget your other playgrounds in Alexandra (and the rest of Central) if you are keen to head out with the littlies for some fun in the sun today.
