No changes to election lineup from preliminary resultsJust 46.83 per cent of eligible voters had their say on Central’s elected representatives

Preliminary results from the weekend’s local body elections have not changed the lineup of candidates for any of the Central Otago District roles.


At this stage, the following four candidates remain ahead in the Cromwell Ward: Sarah Browne (1,885 votes); Cheryl Laws (1,774); Neil Gillespie (1,705); and Nigel McKinlay (1,544).


Five people remain ahead in the Vincent Ward: Tamah Alley (2,710); Tracy Paterson (2,683); Martin McPherson (2,177); Lynley Claridge (2,096); and Ian Cooney (1,840).



Sally Feinerman (356 votes) remains ahead of Mason Robinson (321) for the Teviot Valley Ward’s one vacancy.

 

Four people remain ahead in the Vincent Community Board: Tony Hammington (2,351); Dai Johns (2,252); Roger Browne (2,212); and Jayden Cromb (1,742).


The Teviot Valley Community Board has four vacancies, which at this stage are filled by: Norman Dalley (526 votes); Mark Jessop (504); Russell Read (289); and Gill Booth (271).



Final results are expected to be confirmed by Thursday (October 13).


CODC electoral officer Anthony Morton said the voter return was now at 46.83 per cent, from 8,069 votes (excluding special votes).
