Heavy Rain Warning lifted for The headwaters of the Otago Lakes and Rivers: Rain is easing, and the Warning is now lifted.


A strong wind watch is in place for most of Otago, including Central until 1am Friday morning.


An orange heavy rain warning is in effect for the headwaters of the Otago Lakes and Rivers from 4pm today to 1am Friday, with flooding, slips and road closures possible.



A strong wind watch has been issued for Queenstown Lakes, Central Otago and Clutha west of Tapanui, running from 9am to 9pm Thursday. North-westerly winds may approach severe gale in exposed areas, and there's a moderate chance this could be upgraded to a warning.
