Roxburgh’s Entertainment Centre and hall will be out of action while it undergoes maintenance.
The entertainment centre will be closed from Tuesday, June 4, to allow a range of works to take place, including a fire system upgrade.
Maintenance issues will also be addressed as part of the work, a Central Otago District Council spokesperson said.
Following that work, more attention will be given to the southern wall of the entertainment centre for an additional two months.
“The work has been in the pipeline for a few years, and this was the year the team were able to give it priority.”

Once completed, the building will be brought up to a required standard to help increase capacity, which is currently limited.
Movies have been screened from the same site, on Scotland St, since 1897.
All proceeds from those screenings go towards maintaining, improving and updating the facility.
The cinema has a main theatre, which seats 258 people, and the Attic theatre, an intimate space for small groups, seats 14.
The hall is expected to be closed until about September or October.
