Local snowsports athletes Luca Harrington and Campbell and Finley Melville Ives performed well at the Torpedo7 NZ Showdown held on Big Bucks at Cardrona on Saturday (September 18).

The event is the third stop in the Burton Snowboard Series and the Volkl Freeski Series that make up the Snow Sports NZ Freestyle Series.

Campbell was first in the Men’s FIS Snowboard while Luca was first and Finley second in the FIS Freeski Men.

The first stop of the series was the Cyber Slopestyle in July, followed by the Base NZ Park Attack. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 level restrictions the events scheduled for Tūroa and Mt Hutt were cancelled. 

The final event of the series will be held this coming Saturday (September 25) at The Remarkables.
