After a two year hiatus due to Covid-19 border closures, the Jossi Wells Invitational is back.
New Zealand’s first X Games gold medallist will host some of the best skiers and snowboarders in the world at his home resorts, Cardrona and Treble Cone.
The event runs from September 12 to 17.
Organisers say the event is unlike any other snow sports event in the world because Jossi is immersed in all aspects of snow sports, therefore he invites skiers, snowboarders, competition athletes, film athletes and snow sport legends alike to attend his event.
So far 95 of the world’s best athletes have committed to attend, including Olympic medallists Sage Kotsenburg, Joss Christensen, Su Yiming, Kelly Sildaru, Alex Hall, Colby Stevenson, Tess Coady and New Zealand’s own Zoi Sadowski-Synnott.
There will be three events: A rail jam at Cardrona; the new TC (Treble Cone) Shoot-out; and a big air event at Cardrona.
The events run in a ‘jam’ format, which means there aren’t any competition runs and everyone rides when they want.
It’s also rider-judged: The athletes watch each other during the week and nominate overall champions for ski and snowboard, men and women.
There are two special awards for one skier and one snowboarder – the Tom Campbell Best Overall Style awards. Awards will be announced at the after party on Saturday September 17.
The event attracts the best in the game.
The Jossi Wells Invitational is supported by Monster Energy, Cardrona and Treble Cone, Dragon Alliance, Atomic Skis, The North Face, GoPro, Export/DB and the Alternative Commentary Collective.
