The ice skating community in Central is made up of approximately 60 skaters starting from five years old.
The AISC has been operating for more than 50 years, and moved from the Manorburn Dam to Ice Inline in 1993.
Read more about the history of ice skating in Central on IceInline’s history webpage.
Raffles tickets raising money for AISC will be for sale for $4 per ticket (or five tickets for $15). Prizes include tourism experiences such as cross country skiing, gondola and luge, zipride and other vouchers, products and giftcards from local businesses.
Figure skating is a minority sport in New Zealand with approximately 300 people across the motu (country) competing in singles, pairs, ice dancing and synchronised skating.
