Helpers are needed to lend a hand at a Mōkihi Reforestation Trust (MRT) autumn community planting session this Saturday (April 29).
The session is at Stuart Ferry - a site previously covered in wilding pines - from 9.30 -11.30am.
This is a visible site located opposite Pearson Rd and before the Bannockburn bridge which is utilised by people on the cycleway. Planting commenced at Stuart Ferry in 2020.
Volunteers will learn about planting dryland species, stone mulching and pest protection.
A morning tea will be provided after the planting is completed.

MRT started planting at Richards Beach in 2016 and there are over 3,000 plants at this site.
The third site MRT has planted is at the 45th Parallel carpark north of the Lowburn bridge.
