With winter knocking on our doorstep, it is a good time to try your hand at winter sport.

People are welcome to try curling and ice hockey at two free sessions at Alexandra’s IceInline.

Curling is the first winter ice sport to kick off at Easter in Alexandra, and a ‘Have a Go Day’ at the indoor rink will prepare everyone for the season.

There will be instruction available in both traditional crampet and modern hack styles of curling, at IceInline’s neighbouring facility built in 2021.

Once the curling season starts at Easter it will continue until late September, with bookings available to groups and individuals until Labour Weekend.

The inter primary school curling tournament is always a fun day; it’s on July 5 from 9am -3pm, having a go first could be the difference for your school team.

Alexandra Flames ice hockey club is also offering a free have a go session for children on Saturday May 3 at 10.45am - 12noon.

Gear will be provided and no experience is needed. The club has free registration for goalies in 2025 and welcomes new players of any age and skill level.
