Happy New Year from The Central App

The Central App team would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a happy New Year.

As we reflect on the year that was, for us, we have come to accept change is constant and living with uncertainty has become the norm.

We are all here right now living history. There is no doubt our lives will be studied and written about in hundreds of years to come. What we are going through is a period that no one could have ever predicted and none of us ever expected.

What we do know is that 2022 is a year we, at The Central App, are looking forward to.

I’m proud to acknowledge over the past 12 months The App has a readership of 36,832 unique readers generating over 4.23m page views.

It speaks volumes for the importance of local and community news, especially at a time like this when there is so much fake news via social media channels.

We acknowledge the importance in bringing you the truth and accurate factual information that helps you make your choices. That’s why we went into partnership with NZ On Air to bring you comprehensive Local Government coverage - all the more important with 2022 being an election year - and national coverage with RNZ.

We also have a new general reporter starting in late January. With Rowan leaving, we are replacing with two new local contributors who are keen to tell local people's stories.

Our 2022 New Year mantra at The Central App

If you have an event or other news to share please let us know either by emailing us at [email protected] or click on the Contact Us button anytime to share news, ideas or anything you like!

Our promise to you is to keep you informed, up to date, and provide expert factual advice for all matters that relate to you.

And finally, we ask you to add to your new year resolutions that you will do all you can to support the local businesses that support us, those small businesses that provide you a local service and employ local people.

Your decisions as to what to buy, where to eat, and where to shop shape your tomorrow. Our community!

Happy New Year. We hope 2022 is good to all of us!

Cheers,

Vicki
