Dinosaurs visit Central A huge Triceratops in Pioneer Park

Local children enjoyed an interactive dinosaur show in Alexandra’s Pioneer Park during the weekend (February 18 -19).

Event director Paul Johnson said the show entertained young and old.

“If you are two or 102, you will be enchanted as the greatest creatures ever to walk on earth come alive in the land of the long white cloud.”

He said crowd favourites were the Tyrannosaurus Rex, the robotic raptors and the Brachiosaurus with its 12m long neck.

Other activities on site included fossil panning, bone digging and a dino-mite playground.

The ticketed event is on in the Big Fruit Reserve in Cromwell next weekend (February 25-26). More than 30 dinosaurs, some who move and roar, are in the 90 minute show.

Food and toilets are available on site. The event is pram friendly and there is disabled access.

Visitors need a hat as the big dinosaurs are outside, however some activities are undercover.
