NRG Health and Fitness gym has more reasons for fist bumps for their members and staff: they are a finalist for four national exercise industry awards.
Director Chantel Coote said they have entered previously but this is the first time in around three years they have done so.
“Entering and reaching the finals shows we are professionals in our industry… we’re leading the way and striving to be the best, and getting recognition for it.”
Cromwell’s NRG Health and Fitness is one of five finalists in the independant facility category (NRG Gore also made the final for this), Alexandra NRG trainer Teresa Noble is in the running for ‘Up and coming personal trainer of the year’, and Craig Coote is a finalist in ‘Outstanding Support award’.
Chantel said Teresa has come to the exercise industry after working in a completely different sector.
When Teresa is not at the gym you might spot her zipping downhill on her mountain bike
“She’s had to learn a whole new industry…we are so proud of her. We already feel like we’ve won.
“A survey showed awesome member feedack and our members are proud, so thank you to our community and supporters.”
Husband Craig Coote brings experience to managing the business strategy side of NRG, Chantel says
Chantel said independently owned NRG is more “grass roots” than some of the other entrants who have international backing.
The Exercise Industry Awards have a number of categories, for individuals, programmes and facilities that operate in and around the exercise industry.
Awards are based on an application, reviewed by a judging panel, with finalists and announced at a black tie awards ceremony in Auckland on Saturday November 26 at AUT City Campus.
