Cromwell crop swappers trade ideas and produce Cromwell Crop Swap restarts Saturday January 23 from 10.30am at the Cromwell Masonic Lodge.

Artichokes, gooseberries, homemade vegetable stock and cut flowers were among the glut of products traded at the Cromwell Crop Swap’s last gathering in 2020.

The event, started by Connect Cromwell in 2019, restarts for the season on Saturday, January 23.

Co-ordinators Nita Smith and Beck Brugman will again be hosting it at Cromwell Heritage Precinct.

The gated lawn area at the rear of the Masonic Lodge just off the upper courtyard had proved a great venue, Nita said.

Cromwell Crop Swap has become a hive for the trade of ideas, information and produce.

Crop Swapping is open to any local gardeners and no money changes hands.

People bring along surpluses to trade and anything homemade and homegrown is welcomed.

Ideas, recipes and gardening tips are also exchanged.

Seedlings and salad greens are popular along with free range eggs and arriving on time at 10.30am for the one hour event was a good idea, Nita said, to secure the best swaps.
