Creative release of piano single by local musicianMusician Liz Conway performed new single ‘Secrets of the River’ at Alexandra’s Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery.

A live performance of a new single was an audio visual treat celebrating the arts for Alexandra residents and school students on Tuesday (August 8).

Musician, teacher and mum of two Liz Conway played her contemporary classical piano song to primary school students from Alexandra Primary School and St Gerards School initially and then to approximately 30 adult residents at Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery in a free lunchtime concert.

Artists Marion Vialade-Worch and Sian Player sat either side of the piano and drew during Liz’s performance.

Others in the audience also took part in creative pursuits including sketching and writing poetry while listening.

Liz said she was happy with how the event went as it was primarily about celebrating the song rather than pulling a huge crowd.

“I have a bunch of new songs I’m hoping to release over the next few months leading up to a concert of my music in November.”

Liz spoke about her process for song writing and said she played in the mornings to keep calm while the children got ready for school.

Feedback from attendees was that the performance was beautiful, calming, and a magical experience.

Not a spare seat in the house and plenty of applause for local musician Liz.

One woman said on a social media post about the performance that it was a charming song and she immediately purchased it on iTunes.
