Alexandra's popular community Christmas lunch is back on the menu, ensuring the festive season can be enjoyed by everyone.
Alexandra, Clyde, Lauder Union Parish will host the annual community Christmas Day lunch again this year and preparations will soon gear up.
Reverend Andrew Howley said it would be a similar set up to previous years, making use of the village green space between Alexandra Community House and St Enoch’s Church.
He said registrations would open at the end of November to attend the barbecue.
The organisers will be seeking volunteers, donations, support and entertainers to help with the event.
“Christmas is for everyone.
“We don’t care why you come. Everyone is welcome,” he said.
Previous lunches have attracted a range of people. Some are locals without family nearby; others are overseas workers on holiday visas spending Christmas a long way from home.
In previous years about 100 people have attended.
