New visitor restrictions are being adopted at Dunstan Hospital as Covid-19 case numbers rise around the country.
There were 306 new Covid-19 community cases reported yesterday, including one confirmed case in Queenstown.
Central Otago Health Services Ltd has stepped up its precautions by restricting visits to Dunstan Hospital's Vincent Ward to just one person at any one time, unless by prior arrangement.
Chief executive Kathryn De Luc said visitors should also follow the usual sign in procedures on arrival, practice social distancing, good hand hygiene and wear a face mask.
"If you do not have a medical grade face mask to use when you come in we can provide one on entry.
"We thank you for your support during these challenging times."
The Vincent Ward is open for visitors visit between 11am-6pm.
Those attending an outpatient/x-ray appointment can bring one other person with them.
These arrangements will continue until further notice.
