Cerid’s Book exchange at Alexandra’s Learning HubCerid, an avid reader, has helped to set up a book swap initiative in Alexandra.

Bookworms can donate and swap books at a new free book exchange in Alexandra.

One of the members of the The Good Life Group, Cerid, herself an avid reader, has helped to set up the new initiative, which was launched last week.

She has volunteered at the Alexandra Library for the past six years and will be responsible for maintaining the book swap area at the Learning Hub.

Community Learning Hub co-ordinator Rosanna Ottaway said initiatives like the free book exchange show there are people and places just ready to welcome you.

"Connection with people can be a gateway to a fruitful and fulfilling life.

"The Hub is a place that needs to support diversity, empathy and learning, I think connection is the key."

The book swap is based at Learning Hub at Central Stories.

Anyone can donate books to Cerid’s initiative - all children and adult books, both fiction and non-fiction would be greatly appreciated.

Cerid is a member of The Good Life Group, which provides support, empowerment and direction for people with disabilities.

Books can be dropped off at The Good Life Group and Central Stories at 21 Centennial Ave, Alexandra.
