Phase two of the Central Mahi – It Hits Different campaign, to help connect Central Otago employers with staff to get them through the busy summer months, has been launched.
The campaign is being run by Central Otago District Council (CODC) with support from the Ministry of Primary Industries and Ministry of Social Development.
Phase one of the campaign launched in early September, getting employers to sign up and create videos promoting the roles they had available.

CODC economic development manager Nick Lanham said phase two was about encouraging potential employees to visit the Central Mahi website, watch the employer-created videos and register for support to secure a role.
There are currently ten videos on the site and more are expected.
“We’re asking job seekers who want to earn cash while also enjoying the sunshine and strike a great work-life balance to consider Central Otago for a working holiday,” Nick said.
“We’ve got a diverse range of opportunities on offer – including hospitality, retail, horticulture and primary sector work.”
The campaign will primarily be marketed via social media targeting the lower South Island, with a display at November’s Otago Pop-Up Job Shop in Dunedin, and collaboration with some of the local high schools.
