Alexandra Countdown recalls in-store bakery itemsBakery food sold from Tuesday to Thursday is being recalled because of potential contamination

All in-store baked goods sold at Countdown Alexandra from Tuesday to Thursday (May 2-4) have been recalled because of the potential presence of metal fragments.

Anyone who has bought bakery items should not eat them, and can return the product to their nearest Countdown for a full refund.

In a statement released last night (Thursday May 4) Countdown said there have been no reports of illness or injury.

If anyone has consumed in-store bakery food and is concerned about their health they should seek medical advice.

Countdown said they take food safety very seriously and apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by this recall.
