The districts’ long standing Central Otago’s Agricultural and Pastoral (A&P) Show celebrates its 126th year on Saturday and the crowd favourites are back again along with special musical acts.

Show president Dayna Paterson and the committee thanked sponsors and members for their continued financial support, enabling them to put together an exciting fun filled day for the whole community year after year.

“And, to our farming community who continuously volunteer their time and help grow our show.

“I would also like to say a massive thank you to the fantastic committee who are working behind the scenes to deliver another exceptional show day.

“Good luck to all the competitors I hope you have a great day out, have some fun and take home some ribbons.

The programme at Omakau Domain includes horses, ponies, sheep, woodchopping, a fashion show, roving entertainers, polo, shearing and more.

On the main stage there will be music with a cultural flavour as band ‘The Vanuatu Boys’ will play from 1.30pm followed by Omakau’s Nia du Plessis who will perform her single ‘Bad Boy Blues’, that was released on Spotify late last year.

The grand parade is at 1pm and showcases the best of the show, another highlight is the children’s pet parade at 12.30pm in ‘The Paddock’.

Dayna said entry numbers were great with ‘normal high’ entries in equestrian and sheep competitions.
