Love people, place, and a good story?

We’re looking for two energetic content interns to spend the summer out and about capturing video, photos, and short stories of locals and visitors having fun around Central Otago, from lake days to markets, gigs to community events.

You’ll help us share “Everything Central Otago” in fresh, fast, authentic ways.

Paid summer internship (part time over Summer)

Late November – February (negotiable)

What you’ll do

• Hit the road to film short reels, snap photos, and gather quick interviews.
• Turn raw moments into snackable stories for our app, socials, and newsletters.
• File clean captions, names, and basic details (who/what/where) fast.
• Attend events, try new things, and spot great yarns before anyone else.
• Work safely, professionally, and represent The Central App with mana.

You’ll be great at this if you:

• Are confident with your phone camera (or mirrorless) and basic editing.
• Write clearly and quickly; you love talking to people of all ages.
• Are reliable, positive, and comfortable working on the move.
• Hold a restricted/full driver licence.
• Know Central Otago’s towns, events, and hidden gems (or keen to learn fast!).

Nice to have (bonus points)

• Experience with CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar.
• TikTok/IG Reels chops and an eye for trending formats.
• Journalism, communications, film, media or marketing studies.
• Comfortable with knowledge around the use of AI tools

• 20–30 hours/week (flexible; we’ll work around summer plans).

• Base: Mix of on-location and remote filing.
