Otago Community Hospice is seeking an exceptional bereavement and grief counsellor to become an integral part of our interdisciplinary team. 


Based in Cromwell and surrounding area, this permanent, part-time position supports the rural Hospice service.


You will be responsible for providing bereavement and grief counselling through face-to-face, online, group and individual sessions as well as supporting individuals to strengthen their own informal support networks. 


Working hours are negotiable between 12 and 16 hours a week.


We are flexible on the days worked.

As a vital team member, remuneration ranges between $71,000-$91,000 (pro-rata) depending on qualifications, skills and experience.

 

What We Expect From You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification & registration (a full member of NZAC or equivalent)
  • A high standard of both written and verbal communication 
  • A willingness to learn and a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. While experience in palliative care is preferred, we welcome those with transferable skills.
  • Clean unrestricted driver's licence: This role requires travel within the Otago region, making a current driver's license essential.
