A wonderful opportunity has opened up to join our rural specialist palliative team with a rewarding community role.

The position can be based in either Cromwell, Central Otago, or Oamaru, as the role will support our teams in both areas.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced social worker to join our vibrant and dedicated community palliative care team.

The successful applicant will be assisting patients and Whānau to access appropriate social and financial services, and will work as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team within a model of care based on the principles of Te Whare Tapa Whā, in a progressive health environment.

Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand, hold a professional Social Worker qualification and be registered with Social Worker Registration Board (SWRB). Experience in caring for people with a life limiting illness would be advantageous, but not essential, as we will support the successful applicant with training and education.

Ongoing training, formal education and professional supervision is a priority in order for us to meet the changing complex needs of our population.

This role will require some travel within the Otago region, therefore a current clean driver licence is essential.
