Monte Christo Winery is where Central Otago wine began. We proudly carry on that legacy today, crafting elegant wines and offering an unforgettable guest experience. Heading into our busy summer season, Monte Christo will be buzzing – and we want you to be part of it!

We are offering flexible hours: seasonal, part-time, or full-time available.

The Role

We’re looking for enthusiastic Cellar Door Hosts to join our team.

As a Cellar Door Host, you’ll be the face of Monte Christo for our guests — welcoming them warmly, guiding wine tastings, leading tours, and sharing the stories that make our wines so special.

With a second cellar door opening in Gibbston Valley this summer, there are also opportunities ahead to grow your skills and work across multiple sites as part of our expanding team.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests and deliver engaging wine tastings and winery tours
• Share the Monte Christo Winery story and guide guests in selecting wines to enjoy and take home
• Promote our wine club through friendly, informative conversations
• Assist with private experiences and group bookings
• Support the front-of-house team in maintaining a welcoming, polished environment
• Collaborate with the Fritzy food trailer team to deliver seamless guest experiences
• Help with events and seasonal activities as needed

About You

• A genuine people person who loves creating memorable guest experiences
• Previous hospitality, tourism, or retail experience is a plus
• Enthusiastic about wine and eager to learn more
• Positive, reliable, and a great team player
• Available to work weekends, holidays, and some evenings (service until 8pm on summer weekends)
