Central Otago District Council is seeking an enthusiastic team player to join our Water Services Team based in Alexandra.

The role will have responsibility for developing and maintaining automation and electrical systems to control processes that lead to successful delivery of our water services.


The position will work with a collaborative team to supply safe drinking water, and collect and treat wastewater and stormwater, in an environmentally and economically sustainable manner.


The person will hold a tertiary qualification in engineering or have relevant experience, however, the key attribute will be enthusiasm and willingness to work in a team environment.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 years minimum experience working within an electrical operations environment.
  • Experience in forwards works programming
  • Have or be working towards wastewater/water qualification
  • Hold a New Zealand Drivers License
  • Have strong organisational skills.
  • Be flexible, adaptable and enjoy a challenge
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work as part of a team and to deadlines.
