In this role you will be responsible for leading a small team of engineers with a focus on the on-going programming and management of renewal projects, operations and contract management for council. You will be able to adapt to Central Otago’s unique and challenging environment, be willing to take ownership of issues and solutions, is confident working with minimal supervision and has the drive to develop professionally.

 Desired Skills and Experience

As the successful applicant you will have:

• a relevant tertiary qualification in engineering or science
• at least 5 years’ experience in a water services engineer role or similar
• strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at various levels
• the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• contract and contractor management skills
• programme development and management experience
• proven relationship building experience
• sound analytical, practical and report writing skills.
• strong customer service skills combined with the drive to provide value to the community
• the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy
• a demonstrated sense of urgency to meet deadlines
