Our Planning Team is looking for an organised and positive team member to take on the role of PIM Officer on a full-time basis in our Alexandra office.

The role is critical to timely processing of Planning Checks within the Building Consent process.


You will work closely with our Planners, Administration Team and Building Team to deliver accurate information regarding Central Otago District Plan and Resource Management Act 1991 requirements.


The salary is between $56,755 - $76,786.

What you will bring to the team:


  • A diploma level or higher in Resource Management, Environmental Science/Planning, or other relevant qualification
  • Strong customer service and the ability to build relationships
  • Experience with and ability to learn new computer systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A willingness to learn and retain large amounts of information and iterate to customers
  • The ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy.


Preferred but not required:

  • Experience in local government or central government would be an advantage but not essential
  • Preferably two+ years’ experience in a customer facing role Benefits
