As the General Counsel, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing legal advice to Council officers.

You’ll be the go-to person in our organisation and ensure seamless communication and resolution on a range of issues.

Ultimately you will be a team player that thrives in getting results and matters resolved.

This is a permanent full-time position based in Alexandra.

You will be part of the Business Support Group but will have a high level of autonomy and will work directly with senior leaders day to day.

Desired Skills and Experience, Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and preferably a practising certificate (or ability to obtain one).
  • Experience in local government or a similar environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the key pieces of law related to local government
  • Have strong organisational skills.
  • Solutions focused.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work as part of a team and to deadlines.
