As Communications Officer for Central Otago District Council, you'll be the master of captivating communication.


Your role will include:

• Crafting content for various written and visual platforms like social media, websites, newsletters, publications and press releases.

• Honing your relationship and collaboration skills with internal teams to gather information and upskill on fresh ways to connect and engage.

• Enhancing Council's reputation through developing proactive communications that help people understand Council projects and activities.

• Considering the strategic direction of Council’s communication processes and recommending procedures that reinforce these.

• Harnessing the capabilities of digital technology to maximise genuine connection and reach.

• Assisting in coordinating meaningful public consultations and community engagement initiatives.


Qualifications and Skills:

• A track record that proves you're an exceptional communicator in public relations, marketing, or a related field.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A social media and website guru with the power to create captivating digital campaigns.

• A creative genius with the ability to think outside the box and engage audiences of all shapes and sizes.

• Superb organisational skills to handle multiple tasks and meet conflicting deadlines .

• A team player mentality and ready to collaborate!.
