Everyday 60 New Zealanders will hear the words “You have cancer”.
The Cancer Society understands how a cancer diagnosis can affect every aspect of someone’s life and how it can also affect their family / whanau, friends and others around them.
Our commitment is to help people get through.
Help us make a difference in your community by becoming a Cancer Society Volunteer who provides information and support to people affected by cancer.
Support might involve visiting, respite care or driving someone to an appointment for treatment.
Practical assistance which might involve a one-off mowing of a lawn, or ironing, or vacuuming.
Baking – this might be a batch of biscuits, a small loaf or a meal.
Volunteers are the eyes and ears for the Cancer Society and provide a link between the individual and the society, you will be an integral member of the Cancer Society team.
