I am Louise van der Voort and I am running for Council because I care about Central Otago and its communities.

I have an extensive background in local government including 20 years on the executive at CODC, and seven years on the Board of Taituarā (the membership body for Local Government Professionals). I have developed a strong understanding of the key issues affecting local government and our district.

Having recently concluded my professional role, I am eager to leverage my experience and strong professional and personal relationships to serve our community in a governance role. It’s a tough time for local government and Council needs the skills to address the big challenges that lie ahead, particularly Central Government reforms, rising costs, affordability, and growth.

Council must stay connected with its residents to ensure that their views are heard and considered. If elected, I will bring my expertise and dedication to making informed decisions that will benefit our communities and help our district thrive.
