Established in 1864 by intrepid Frenchman J.D. Féraud, Monte Christo Winery is the oldest winery in Central Otago.

Today, our wines are made with 100% estate-grown fruit sourced from our vineyards across three distinct sub-regions, the Alexandra Basin, Bannockburn and Pisa.

Utilising sustainable farming practices and minimal intervention methods in the winery, the outcome is elegant, refined, and impeccably balanced wines epitomising the terroir of Central Otago.

CELLAR DOOR: Join us for a walk-in wine tasting in the historic winery turned cellar door, or book tours & elevated experiences in advance on our website.

EAT: Check out our garden food trailer "Fritzy" for a delicious lunch, platters, or light nibbles to enjoy with your glass of wine.

STAY: We have three luxury guest cottages, offering the perfect retreat for couples, families and friends alike!

We are located right next the Central Otago Rail Trail, and at Monte Christo, you'll find something for everyone - including an outdoor children's play area & pétanque court.
